CJ Houdini

I'm still reeling a little from the incident four short hours ago...We knew this day was coming but nothing can prepare you for the THUD and the WAILING cry that occurs the first time your son climbs out of his crib.

We think that the fall scared CJ, but we had a talk with him about asking Mama & Dad "up please" when he wants out. For tonight, we gathered just about every spare pillow around the house and surrounded the crib with cushioning. He is able to open door knobs now, so we double checked that all the deadbolts are locked just in case!!

Now the discussions begin: Do we get a crib tent? "Graduate" CJ to a toddler bed? AHHH!! I thought we had more time! I think it is going to be a long night of worrying tonight, and possibly a couple of long weeks ahead of us depending on changes to the bedtime routine! :(

Oh no!! I know that will scare me. I'm glad he's okay. Good luck with all of the changes. I'm sure he will do great!

Oh no!! I am DREADING that day...seriously.

With twins in the same room, I personally am going to do whatever it takes to keep them in their cribs for as long as possible. Crib tents, drop their mattresses (take the frame out) to the floor, whatever. I just can't risk them having that much freedom...especially in there together!!
